Singing in the Rain
In the year that marks the 65th anniversary of its big screen debut, the season of the musical "Singin' in the Rain" ran at the Teatro Santander from August to December 2017. The iconic roles played by Gene Kelly and Jean Hagen now come to life through Jarbas Homem de Mello and Claudia Raia.
The Little Mermaid
The musical “The Little Mermaid”, a Broadway super-production inspired by the Disney movie, will have its first production in Brazil. Tiago Abravanel and Fabi Bang lead a great cast, which has a season at Teatro Santander starting on March 30. Based on the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen, “The Little Mermaid” has as its protagonist Ariel, who lives at the bottom of the sea, but wants to be part of the human world.
Donna Summer Musical
“Donna Summer Musical” premiered on Broadway in March 2018, with tremendous success from both audiences and critics. Its production in Brazil, at Teatro Santander, achieved the same blockbuster status . The show features an imposing set of 260m2 and over 13 tons upon which the three lead actresses and a cast of 23 actors and dancers perform, garnished by numerous mirrors and an impressive lighting setup. To recreate the many phases of the singer's life, the cast uses over 50 wigs and around 200 different costume pieces.
Chicago – The Musical
There's no one who can resist the trumpet sound and the vibrant choreography, in the best Bob Fosse style, that announces the famous introduction of the classic “All That Jazz.” It's with this sexy spirit infused with fame, crime, lust, and betrayal, that Chicago, the longest-running American musical in the history of Broadway and the West End, has landed in São Paulo, at Teatro Santander.
Wicked – The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz
WICKED, the biggest Broadway hit written in the 21st century, is the untold story of the witches of Oz, in reference to the 1939 classic film. Long before Dorothy is swept away by a tornado to the Emerald World, Elphaba and Glinda live out one of the finest stories in musical theater, which has achieved resounding success at Teatro Santander.
